Weekend Destination Suggestion: Konjarka - Picnic Spot Near the Village of Skocivir

Weekend Destination Suggestion: Konjarka - Picnic Spot Near the Village of Skocivir

For those living in Bitola or the municipality of Novaci, "Konjarka" is a well-known picnic destination, but for other travelers on Kajak, this is yet another challenge for a weekend trip.

August, September, and October are great months for hiking in nature, cycling through the forest, and enjoying the river with your friends and loved ones.

Today, we bring you another great weekend suggestion by the river. The river we’re introducing today is the Konjarska River, whose source is located below Kajmakčalan, right on the border with Greece at an elevation of 2260 meters above sea level.

The riverbed flows westward, and along its course, a dense forest has formed, where the picnic area Konjarka is also located.

For those who decide to visit the picnic area, it’s important to know that it is located near the village of Skochivir, or about 38 kilometers from Bitola.

This picnic area is fully equipped with benches, a landscaped riverbed, and trails for hiking and cycling. Not far from the picnic spot is the Monastery of St. Luke, which can serve as your final hiking destination from Konjarka.
