Horseback Riding in the Wilderness of Macedonia

Horseback Riding in the Wilderness of Macedonia

If you've ever thought you've experienced it all, remember to search the Kajak.mk platform for new attraction suggestions that might change your perception of how you experience Macedonia.

On Kajak.mk, you can meet all kinds of people—young, older, cheerful, mischievous, adventurers, professionals, calm individuals seeking peace, or people who stir up the dust. All the people we interact with on the platform share the same goal and vision: to transform Macedonia into a tourism story where active tourism and the support of local communities by tourists take center stage.

We are people who are constantly searching for locals who, through small actions, make a huge impact on the development of tourism. These people give us hope that Macedonia will become what it truly deserves.

Today, we want to introduce you to Dursim Rushani from the village of Bozovce, who, for us, is one of the people making small actions that have a huge impact on the development of tourism.

Dursim is a guide and organizer at the "Bozovca" horseback riding club, which has been organizing tours through the wilderness of Shara for a while now. Through these tours, you can experience all the natural beauties of this vast mountain, as well as taste traditional local food.

Dursim says that the club has between 15 to 20 horses. During the season, three tours are organized through Shara, some of which are shorter, while others are longer.

One of the destinations visited during the horseback riding tours is Leshnica, or as many call it, the oasis or the heart of Shara Mountain. Before the pandemic, this destination was known to only a few, but today, it can be found attracting a larger number of active tourists. It is located deep within the folds of the mountain massif and is filled with lush and pristine mountain rivers, roaring waterfalls, steep slopes, and dense forests.

Those who decide to visit Leshnica will have the opportunity to photograph the Krivoshijski Waterfall, as well as the famous Krivoshijski Pits, which we have written about on Kajak.mk.

These tours can be of great educational value, so if you want more information and contact details to book one of the tours, click HERE.
