Father and Two Sons Crafting a 16-Year-Old Wine Story

Father and Two Sons Crafting a 16-Year-Old Wine Story

In our journey so far, we have shared many stories of family-owned wineries emerging across Macedonia. However, our goal is not just to promote these people, but also to help them sell as many products as possible. We are aware that to build a successful story, it must also bring us profit. Therefore, we believe we haven’t done anything unless we have helped create profit for those who believe in kajak.mk. At least, that’s how we honestly think in the team.

Today, we will introduce you to another family-owned winery, "Kartal," which has been around for 16 years and boasts 16 harvests behind it. For us, it is yet another gastronomic hideaway worth experiencing.

After graduating from the Faculty of Agriculture, brothers Jordan and Filip, together with their father, who is also an agronomist, decided to invest in and start wine production. They initially began with three wine varieties: Rhine Riesling (white wine), and two red wines made from the Vranec and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. Today, their portfolio includes 14 wines, including barrel-aged wines (aged in oak barrels) made from Vranec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Chardonnay Barrel Fermented, and several other grape varieties.

Today, the most significant contribution to the story is the carefully selected grapes, which, together with the vineyard cooperants, receive a lot of attention and care for the vineyards.

As you were reading, you may have thought this was a winery in the Tikveš region, but the winery we are adding to the kajak.mk platform is located just 5 kilometers from the center of Skopje, towards the settlement of Dračevo. For those looking for the exact location to visit, it can be found at ul.1519 No.7.

Today, the main managers of the winery are brothers Jordan and Filip, who are also the lead enologists. The Kartal Winery features a tasting room with a capacity of 25 guests. In addition to local visitors, frequent guests include international travelers who, besides experiencing the beauty of Macedonia and the capital city of Skopje, also have an exclusive opportunity to explore and taste some of our high-quality dry wines paired with suitable food.

For more information about Kartal Winery, you can find it in our "Gastronomy" section or with just one click HERE.
