My Wine Takes the Grand Prix Award for Best Rated Wine, a Surprising Achievement
We took advantage of the sunny days in February to have a coffee with Aleksandar Kimov, the man behind the wine brand 'Kimov,' which this year won the 'Grand Prix' award for the wine 'Temjanika Harvest 2021.
Aleksandar is happy about the award but admits that he did not expect this to happen. He shares with Kajak.mk that even during the fermentation process, his team was aware that the wine was of exceptional quality, but no one ever thought they would receive an award for the best-rated wine.
Such awards are given at an international competition by a committee of renowned enologists, led by Professor Mihail Petkov.
The award is given to the best-rated beverage from white, red, and rosé wines, rakija, brandy, and mastika from all categories combined.
The wine 'Temjanika 2021' was evaluated based on: originality, color hue, color and aroma intensity, refinement, harmony, taste originality, taste intensity, flavor harmony, taste persistence, and aftertaste.
For him, the greatest motivation is the satisfied consumers who enjoy the wine. Like every young and ambitious winemaker, Aleksandar dreams of developing the wine story. He says he has a vision and big plans. Recently, he started organizing wine tastings and wine presentations, all complemented by catering services.
