Significant Amount of Waste Cleared from Lake Ohrid: Clean-up Efforts Ongoing

Approximately 40 underwater enthusiasts from Struga, Ohrid, Tetovo, Skopje, Kavadarci, Belgrade, Bitola, and Štip participated in a successful eco-action to clean Lake Ohrid, organized by SKOPSKO.

Unfortunately, a lot of trash has been removed, but there is still much work to be done, say the organizers.

Irresponsibility and disregard for our natural beauties have led to the point where we have to clean up the waste ourselves! From car tires, plastic bottles, and glass bottles! The diverse solid waste found at the bottom of the lake is the most challenging part of the cleaning actions.

Such actions organized through the SKOPSKO campaign aim to raise awareness among citizens about proper waste disposal!
