New Accommodation in Mariovo – Our Latest Investment

New Accommodation in Mariovo – Our Latest Investment

In Macedonia, there are many people who do small things of huge significance for the development of tourism in the country, stories that we will continue to tell in 2023. The last week of 2022 is dedicated to Natasha and Miteko Krstevski, who have been crafting a successful story in the village of Zoviče, Mariovo, for several years in a row. Just a few days ago, they opened new accommodation facilities that can host up to 16 guests.

Those who have not yet visited the Mariovo region are unfamiliar with its challenges in terms of distance, infrastructure, water, and electricity. That is why we admire Natasha and Miteko, who took a brave step to invest in new private accommodation in Zoviče and operate it year-round.

The village of Zoviče is primarily a destination visited in spring and summer, but Miteko mentioned in conversation that starting this winter season, their accommodation and ethno restaurant "Kaj Mostot" will operate year-round.

The opening of the accommodation and the maintenance of the restaurant are heavily influenced by Natasha and Miteko's love for their hometown and their desire to develop rural tourism in Mariovo.

The new facility includes 4 newly equipped apartments, ideal for family stays, with the capacity to accommodate up to 16 people.

As for the ethno restaurant, you should keep in mind that you can taste traditional food from the Mariovo region, including vršnik (a type of pastry), bread baked in a wood-fired oven, homemade cheese made by the hosts, salads from their gardens, vitkalnik with cheese, peshii with cheese, and garlic dip (makala).

In order to prepare the food in the oven, the hosts need almost six hours, so they advise all guests to announce and reserve their arrival in advance. This is because the restaurant does not use a conventional grill; instead, it prepares food in the old and traditional way.

The Ethno Restaurant "Kaj Mostot" has been in operation since 2015, and Miko has been in the hospitality business for 30 years. The name of the restaurant comes from the famous bridge that you can often see in the films of our cinematic ambassador, Milcho Manchevski.

Zoviq is a village located at an altitude of 685 meters. It is an ideal destination for active tourism such as cycling, hiking, and here you can also enjoy jeep safari adventures, for which you can get information from the hosts at the apartments.
