Nature in Macedonia Inspires My Unique Creativity

Nature in Macedonia Inspires My Unique Creativity

The stories of young local heroes in Macedonia must continue in 2022. The first humble story that the Kajak.mk team will share with you in the new year is about Aleksandar Radichki—a man from Gostivar who creates artistic works in his unique way using natural elements he collects while walking in nature.

Aleksandar describes himself as an active mountaineer and a member of "PSK Bistra" from Gostivar. So far, he has held two successful exhibitions of his photographs. He says that these handmade artworks, which he started creating six years ago, have inspired him to become a passionate collector.

He fell in love with this technique six years ago while hiking, where he spontaneously started collecting unique stones, which he later used to create his first piece—a flower.

The artworks he creates carry their own symbolism. He often depicts flowers or family scenes, which, as he says, have a special beauty.

The final look of his artwork depends on the region he visits. Aleksandar explains that each area offers different natural materials that can be used. Lately, he has been striving to paint the landscapes he encounters during his travels, though he admits that this requires time and preparation.

The creation process is not simple, he says. It can take up to eight days, sometimes even longer. Everything depends on the chosen theme by the buyer, their vision, and, of course, the assortment of stones and materials available.

The first step begins with sanding the base, varnishing it, and preparing the frame. Then comes the most beautiful part—placing the elements into the artwork.

When asked what people most often request from him, Aleksandar says they seek beautiful moments that remind them of cherished experiences—these range from family moments and marriage proposals to romantic gifts for loved ones.

Aleksandar mentions that his artwork can be ordered through Facebook, and you can contact him directly.
