Camping Adventures in the Beautiful Surroundings of Dobrenoec

Camping Adventures in the Beautiful Surroundings of Dobrenoec

If we list the reasons why August and September are ideal months, camping would be among the top reasons. Macedonia offers perfect spots for camping, and as a team, we constantly encourage everyone to keep all destinations clean and free of waste.

Any trash you find in nature, regardless of whether it was left by previous travelers, is your responsibility to collect in a plastic bag and dispose of properly in waste bins. As we know, nature cannot fight this battle on its own.

Stefan is an experienced camper who loves discovering new hideouts in Macedonia and beyond. His story begins in the heart of Macedonia, in Gradsko, his hometown.

Stefan from Kajak.mk shares that he grew up in Gradsko and later continued his life in Veles and Skopje. The capital city of Macedonia awakens the adventurer in him and motivates him to start actively traveling across European countries such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, and more. During his years traveling through Europe, he filled his time camping in many regions, and this European trend gave birth to a lifelong habit that he still maintains today.

Stefan says that Macedonia is an ideal country for campers. There are countless locations where you can pitch a tent and enjoy untouched nature—from Ohrid and Dojran to the mountain ranges that isolate travelers from the sounds of the urban jungle.

For him, it’s important that the surroundings are peaceful and unpopulated because, as he says, he loves playing the harmonica. This instrument is his constant companion during camping trips, allowing him to sing and play as much as his heart desires.

He also shares that he recently returned from a camping event with 150 campers from around the world. The camping lasted more than a month, and the location was just 9 kilometers from the village of Gorno Dobrenoec — a spot he highly recommends to all campers as ideal.

In the surrounding area, you can find waterfalls, and what makes this spot truly authentic for camping is the fact that there is no phone signal, completely isolating you from the outside world. Signal can only be picked up at certain spots nearby, but it is very weak. (Note: Do not camp in areas without signal unless you have an experienced mountain guide.)

Stefan advises all travelers who are regular readers of Kajak.mk that camping can truly change their lives. The most important thing for anyone going camping for the first time is to be accompanied by an experienced camper or mountain guide who can provide the necessary advice for a safe and enjoyable camping experience.

According to Stefan, it’s important who you go camping with, how the trip is planned, and what you bring from home.

He advises everyone to be careful with nature but also to take care of themselves. The most important thing is to stay in areas where medical vehicle access is available. He also emphasizes being mindful of what you consume during camping and looking out for others.
