Weekend Getaway Recommendation: The Berovo Bachilo with 25 Years of Quality Cheese Production

Weekend Getaway Recommendation: The Berovo Bachilo with 25 Years of Quality Cheese Production

For 25 years, we have been connected to livestock farming, and that inspired us to take a step forward," says Filip from the restaurant Bachilo, which as of today is part of the Gastronomy section on Kajak.mk.

Many small family businesses opened during the pandemic and the Kajak.mk team has proudly written about and supported them.

Today, we bring you another story, this time in the Gastronomy category—a destination you can visit to taste a variety of delicious food.

We spoke with Filip, a young member of the restaurant Staro Bachilo. Filip shared that their sweet family story began on July 17, 2021. The restaurant got its name from the bachilo (sheepfold) located within the property, where sheep are raised and delicious sheep cheese is produced.

He added that his family has been building a 25-year tradition in livestock farming, which inspired them to start a new restaurant offering something unique that cannot be found in Berovo and the Maleshevo region.

In addition to the bachilo, the restaurant's unique ambience and interior provide guests with a sense of peace, transporting them back in time to how Berovo and the Maleshevo region once were. On the other hand, the food served here is always fresh and homemade, says Filip.

For food enthusiasts adding Staro Bachilo to their must-visit list, Kajak recommends trying the Klisi (traditional bread rolls) baked in a copper pan, the various potato dishes, and, of course, the cheese.

Filip says that guests who visit the restaurant always leave with full stomachs and smiles, and the positive comments make them happy.
