The holiday season in Macedonia begins with Kolede, one of the oldest and most joyful traditions. Koledari, dressed in traditional costumes, go from house to house, singing festive songs and bringing blessings for health, happiness, and prosperity. Today, this custom is still practiced, and the Koledari songs and the symbolism of their blessings remain an important part of the holiday season.

Badnik is the day before Christmas, dedicated to preparing the festive table and honoring traditional customs. In many families, special bread called Badnik bread is baked, holiday dishes are prepared, and homes are decorated with winter ornaments.
